Tariq is a 16 month old husky-retriever mix and crazy about vegetables (seriously). He figured out how to get to a big bowl of vegetables on the kitchen table and gently take one tomato off the vine and sneak away to his bed with it. On one hand, that’s a very bad dog, on another he wasn’t terribly greedy about it!

Panty Chomper
Monty chewed a dozen pairs of undies over the course of his month long stay. He always felt really bad afterwards though, as you can see.
Diplomatic Immunity
I chew everything but passports are so good on my little teeth, even though it will take 4 weeks to get a new one and my daddy leave in 4 days 🙂 please don’t leave me.
Bleu is no longer an honorary girl scout!
Bleu must have somehow snatched this away while I was counting the money!
Muddy Puppy
My three-legged rescue pit puppy Nona hates baths…but not as much as she LOVES mud! This time I caught her in the act and had to give her yet another bath! Sign reads: Mud is fun! (Especially right after a bath!) -Nona
I tried to dig to China!
Our 5 month old Goldendoodle, Corolla, kept coming inside filthy…until we found this hole in the backyard of our rental. She dug through netting, rocks and a few questionable construction materials.
Adoptable Fridays – Salus
I rolled in something smelly just before my foster mom was going to take me somewhere. I am a smelly, guilty girl. But please adopt me!
Salus is an amazing 3 year old pit bull from Durham, NC. She’s being adopted through the Bue Ridge Boxer Rescue. She normally very good except when there is something smelly to roll around in. Salus must be an only dog with no other small animals in the home. She LOVES people: from kids to seniors. She has a great personality and other than a fetish for tearing up paper, destroying squeakies (hey they are annoying anyway), and the occasional smelly roll-around she is a perfect dog. Please consider her if you are look for a wonderful girl to share you’re home!!
Adoptable Fridays –Betty Boop and Curly Sue
These beautiful Labrador /Chesapeake Bay retriever girls are about 3 months old and perfect in every way. They’re available from Atlanta Lab Rescue in Atlanta, GA. They both love people and get along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. They are incredibly smart, housebroken, and will soon start to learn basic commands. Betty Boop is a bit more adventurous than her sister and will jump right into whatever seems like fun; Curly Sue tends to think before she leaps.
Betty Boop will probably grow to be about 45lbs; Curly Sue is smaller so will be less than 40lbs when fully grown. The only thing they like more than playing is snuggling-up on the sofa with their foster mom. They are both full of puppy-joy and are guaranteed to bring lots of smiles to whoever is lucky enough adopt them. More information could be found here.
Adoptable Fridays – Pippa, Presto and Poe
These adorable pups had a very rough start in life, but their luck turned around on Mother’s Day weekend when they were rescued from a Memphis, TN dumpster and are now with the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. When found, they were emaciated (the smallest, Poe only weighing 2.8 pounds), had ticks, fleas, roundworms, Giardia, and Coccidia.
Look at them only 5 weeks later – happy, healthy pups ready to be adopted! These sweet babies are also smart; they learned how to sit in only 2 days and are well on their way to being housetrained. Like the sign says, “Will sit for kibble” and just about anything else.
Adoptable Fridays – Ethel
Ethel is a two year old miniature schnoxie or possibly a wirehaired dachshund mix. She is available through A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue & Fixin’) in Cookeville, TN. She is very loving, and after she learns to trust you will never leave your side! (Seriously, never, not even when you are in the shower or using the restroom.) She loves snuggles and belly rubs, and is more than willing to help keep the dust out from under your bed in exchange for being allowed to sleep on it! Ethel would love to have a little partner-in-crime/playmate her own size, but would be fine as an only dog as well. Her current foster home has three other dogs, but no kids or cats. We do know that she is fine with older kids, and she has been friendly with smaller kids during adoption events, but she has not been around any cats that we know of! Ethel shares a dog bed with her foster sister at night, and when the alarm goes off she jumps up, tail wagging to ensure that her foster parents do not oversleep. She would also like to add that she is a baby-gate hurdle champion, and is willing to pull her weight by making a careful inventory of your shoes. Ethel is mostly housetrained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She can be fearful of strangers due to lack of socialization, but has made great progress in this area. She needs a home that will continue to keep her socialized.
For more information on Ethel, please check out her profile here. Ethel is currently fostered in Cookeville, TN but transport is available to the Northeast and Chicago areas!
