Cora does not enjoy water and thought it’d be a fun game for me to chase her around the backyard while ruining the bath I was almost done giving her. Then she had to do it all over again. Maybe she should have thought twice about being an escape artist…

Look Dad, No Weeds!
Adopted sisters Emma and Tess spent their first summer playing so hard in the back yard that there is no grass left. Because they track in so much winter mud, we had to put down straw over the entire yard.
I wonder how much Astro-Truff cost?
Frank Loves Nimh, a lot.
These rescue dogs are the best of friends. Frank, the mini long-haired dachshund, can get a bit too friendly with Nimh, the boxer-lab mix. The worst part is that it doesn’t seem to bother Nimh. At all!
Hot Cayenne Doggie
Our Labradoodle is a legendary chewer. Vines, shoes (while we are putting them on), copper wire, sprinkler heads, a table, our backyard lights, seat cushions, $300 glasses, 2 pairs of flip flops. The trainer taught us to use the leash to “correct him,” but suggested we put vinegar on the leash so he wouldn’t chew that too. “Yummy,” said Cosmo.
Undaunted, we added cayenne pepper.
His response?
“Bring it on.”
Butter Addict
Sydney like to eat butter of all kinds off the counter. Sometimes she even follows them up with bagels her people were planning on eating.
Adoptable Fridays – Ellie
“Someone abandoned my on the street so my foster mom took me in. Now I spend all day cuddling my puppy brother”
This is Ellie and she was abandoned near an apartment complex in Post Ballantyne, NC. She is a 3 year old chocolate lab and she she is wonderful, no aggression and highly trainable. Her foster mom and dad found her and brought her to a shelter only to find out that she was abandoned, not lost. She also has a sponsor that will pay for her transportation anywhere as long as a loving home is guaranteed. Her foster mom made her a page here. Please please please consider adopting Ellie!
Adoptable Fridays – Keno
Keno is a dignified gentleman at 10 years old. He lives in Georgetown, DE and is available for adoption through the Delaware SPCA. He was dumped at the shelter because his owners got tired of him. He lives my office at the shelter and he is a wonderful companion. His vision and hearing are a little impaired, but there is nothing wrong with his nose! Adoptable Fridays – Buzz
Buzz is a 3 year old Pointer/Lab mix available for adoption through the Longmont Humane Society in Longmont, CO. He came into us with a pretty severe allergy issue that is now very well under control with his diet and chinese herbs. He is still in a foster home because the kennels at the shelter make him nervous, but does come in on the weekends to help him find his forever home! He is a very active and happy dog who very much loves to be around his people! He would prefer to be the only animal in his new house, but may get along with the right dog. He does do well with kids, however, and should be a fun addition to the right family!
Abarkaham Lincoln ignores you
“Oh, he’ll play with me..you’ll see, no one can resist this.”
This is Ozzy. He LOVES everyone, and is used to everyone loving him right back, when we came across this Lincoln statute, Oz was NOT OK with being ignored.
Doggie Yoda
I look like Yoda when I roll over for belly rubs and I’m not ashamed. Dodger does this every night.
