Tissue Thief
This is Tex, our 9 1/2 year-old Labrador Retriever. He LOVES to eat dirty tissues! He loves it when any of us have a cold. He has been known to sneak in the room and steal used tissue before we have a chance to throw it out! We have no idea why he does this, it’s pretty gross….but he’s not sorry.
The Destroyers
Caesar, Cicero, Hiram, and Brutus came to live with me when they were about 3 weeks old as foster pups (part of a litter of 13 dumped at the local animal shelter). No one ever wanted them so they are my boys. This was them at about 7 months old. Now they are a year old and about 70 pounds each. Through this year they have chewed and destroyed sheetrock, 4 pairs of shoes, fabric for a quilt I was making, seats on outdoor table chairs, footboard of a bed, telephone cord, computer mouse cord, no-line trifocals, lined trifocals, car bumper, flashlight, carpet in the back room (it is now just a dog room), numerous dog beds, azaleas, dwarf nandinas, mimosa, ,tablecloths, bedspread, miniblinds, mattress pad, garden hoses, soaker hoses, $100 electronic collar, new dog collars, and 7 chairs. They have also scratched up hood on car and throw up in car every time they have to go anywhere. They have torn down fences and have dug up huge areas of the yard. I still adore them.
Editor’s note: You are an amazing dog-mom! Keep up the good work!
I tear fluff out of my best friend
Every time we leave Lucy in her kennel during the day there is at least a small amount of fluff missing from her favorite thing in the world, her bed. Today she had a busy day of ripping out half the fluff in 4 hours time!

Adoptable Fridays – Rosie
“I cannot resist on the toilet bowl brush – I have no shame. Rosie
Baby Girl Rosie is around one year old, and appears to be a Lab/pitt or other terrier/who knows what mix. She is fully grown at around 33 pounds. Rosie is a very sweet girl who loves to give hugs and kisses. She gets along with other dogs, but has never been around cats. She is available through Eleventh Hour Rescue in Rockaway, NJ.
Adoptable Fridays: Mona
Mona is a super sweet girl who likes to sneak into the garden for a quick evening snack…of sweet peas! She’s fromĀ Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue in San Francisco, CA.
Our dogs Chip and Mona (foster) saw my husband and I picked peas for dinner. We went back a few minutes later and much to our surprise the dogs were picking peas and eating them too!
Mona was an owner surrender in December. When she arrived at our house on Christmas eve she was 25+ lbs over weight and would not stand or walk over to eat dinner! Our dog Chip would bring her chew toys and lay next to her those first few days. She was so gentle and sweet we want to see what her personality was like when she was healthier. After a 5 month diet and exercise plan (Chip helped lots) she has lost over 20lbs and is ready for her forever home.
She does have hip dysplasia so a single story home would be better for her joints. She loves walks and playing keep away in our backyard with our dog. When a squirrel comes through our yard you would never know she use to be obese, wow can she sprint when she needs to.
