Adoptable Fridays – JJ
This is JJ and he’s looking for his retirement home! He a 12 years young Pekingese (although some say he looks more like a Tibetan Spaniel) and is available for adoption through Broken Tail Rescue in Worcester, MA. He’s a pretty laid back little guy that likes his belly rubbed. When JJ was surrendered to Broken Tail Rescue, he appeared to be blind in one eye, and there was a prior vet’s recommendation to remove that eye. Since he’s been in his foster home, its been discovered that he needs thyroid medication (very invexpensive), and he seemed to regain some vision in that eye! Even though JJ is partially blind in one eye, and his hearing is not 100% anymore, nothing stops him! Since he’s a “mature” dog, you won’t have to worry about him tearing up your home or having accidents everywhere, but he’s young enough that he loves to go for car rides and for walks with his foster family! JJ gets along great with their other dog and their cat. He don’t like being excessively handled, so a home with adults is really his alley. What he really wants is a forever retirement home that doesn’t see his shortcomings as flaws and promises to rub behind his ears every day!

Adoptable Fridays – Vanna
Vanna is a 2-year-old adoptable pit bull located at Response-a-Bull Rescue in Wilmington, DE. This girly-girl loves to dress up…she fusses when you take off her sweaters and occasionally tries to steal them from you when you DO get them off of her! She’s a sweet-as-pie snuggle bug that just loves to be with people, but she needs to be the only animal in the home. That said, Vanna is sure to provide you with the love of a houseful of animals!
After being in the shelter for a year, Vanna finally went into foster care, but the family decided that they didn’t have time for a dog. Upon returning to the shelter, Vanna was sad and confused. She didn’t understand why she had gone from a crate in the shelter, to a warm, loving home, and then back to her crate. She’s lost the sparkle in her eyes and the spring in her step, and we’re desperately searching for someone to foster her until she is adopted. Response-a-Bull Rescue will provide all food, medical care, and any needed supplies. If interested in fostering or adopting Vanna, please fill out the adoption application located here ( for fostering, in the Dog Name field indicate “Foster Vanna.”)

Sweet Tiffany stole the heart of a rescue worker at the shelter who suspected she might be pregnant. As the rescue worked to get her out of the shelter so she wouldn’t be euthanized a series of adventures and misadventures lead to the rescuers and veterinarian believing she was deaf. She was also diagnosed with an ear infection, and after several weeks of treatment we discovered she could hear just fine! Her super sweet temperament is unchanged though!
