Adoptable Fridays – Julian
Julian not only hung himself from a fence by the foot for Christmas, costing the rescue that is sponsoring him over $2000 for the new plate in his ankle, he then ate part of the clinic that was donating services to said rescue.
Julian is a terrier/pit mix being fostered through the Animal Compassion Network from Asheville, NC. He is a handsome man who loves spending these long winter evenings curled up in his favorite armchair, or playing with his new best friend. While Julian has the energy and spunk to be a hiking or jogging buddy, he also enjoys being a couch potato. He has a very sweet temperament and is waiting for a forever home where is affection will be returned. Here’s his profile.
Adoptable Fridays – Candy
My foster brother taught me how to drink from the toilet. My foster brother is a cat.
My name is Candy and I am available for adoption through Eleventh Hour Rescue in Bloomfield, NJ. I am about one year old and a shepherd/corgi mix. She has the body of a corgi; markings and ears of a German Shepherd; and fur and voice of a husky. Candy is the epitome of a little sister – she follows her foster brothers around all day, copying their every move! She is is a very happy and playful girl who loves other dogs and wants to love cats too! Here’s her profile.
Adoptable Fridays – Pluto
My name is Pluto and I am a 2 year old blue nose pit bull From Boston, MA. I was a Christmas miracle, pulled from the euthanasia line on Christmas Eve just in the nick of time by Last Hope K9 Rescue.
I will admit that my life has not been the greatest so far and humans have not always been kind to me. Because of that I tend to be a little shy at first and would love a home that would help me build my confidence. I was really underweight, but my amazing foster family has gotten me healthy and I am no longer timid like I used to be. I love belly rubs! In fact, they may be my favorite thing (besides have a roof over my head and a warm place to sleep). I am a pretty low-key and would love a home where I could be the center of someone’s world. My only shame is the life I was given prior to the shelter. I am one of the lucky ones who got out. If you can’t adopt me, please pick a shelter or rescue dog. There are just too many of us who need you.
Adoptable Fridays – Cody
Cody is a well-behaved, handsome boy, a “people dog” who likes everyone. Cody is at Rural Dog Rescue in Washington, DC. While he’s good with other dogs, he’s getting stressed out in his doggie daycare foster, so we want to find him a nice home soon. He’s a young black lab mix who excels at training – the trainer calls him a “rock star.” (www.ruraldogrescue.com) and is available to adopters in the area. Read more about him here.
Adoptable Fridays – Khayla
Khayla is just a sweetie. She is also quiet as a mouse. No barking at all from her. Khayla lives in Chapel Hill, NC and is available for adoption through the Wake County Animal Shelter. She is about 6 years old, and as calm as can be. She just wants to lay in the sun and be pet. She has polite white paws and is food motivated, which means she is easy to train. She was over-bred and then discarded after the owners couldn’t use her any more. Because of this, she has saggy nipples, which is why we think she has been overlooked for so long (people think this is unsightly). She has been in the shelter for over 100 days, but is currently in foster care. This means she gets a small break from her kennel in the shelter.
Adoptable Fridays – Chance
Chance is a 2 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound. Chance is in Chicago, IL with One Tail at a Time. He has no shame and will flop on his back for a belly rub any chance he can. Chance is looking for a home with no other pets where he can rip apart stuffies, sleep on comfy beds, and get long walks. He loves playing with other dogs outside the home. Here is Chance’s profile.
Adoptable Fridays – Daffodil
Hello. My name is Daffodil and I play dirty! I’m available for adoption through San Diego Humane Society‘s in Oceanside, CA. My favorite thing in the entire universe is getting the sillies out with my fellow canine playmates at the shelter. I will romp, run, wrestle and hop with other dogs all day. I am especially well known for slobbering all over my friends’ faces. I am a playful bundle of energy who is a big mush on the inside. In addition to play dates, I also love to snuggle with my favorite people and eat snacks. I am a very smart girl, so I will need lots of fun things to keep me entertained in my new house. I am sure there will be plenty of dog shaming opportunities in my future!
Daffodil is a 1 year, 10 month old, spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier mix. If you are interested in meeting her, please click here.
Adoptable Fridays – Sheba
This is Sheba. She is a 5 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound in Evansville, IN. She is available for adoption with It Takes a Village Canine Rescue. Sheba loves belly rubs and going for walks or runs. Just don’t surprise her with a fluffy canine running mate! We figure she is just jealous of the volume and body that Aussies and Collies have in their hair, since hers is so sleek and straight. She gets along with humans of all ages, most other dogs and cats. She will even do ok with fluffy dogs, once she gets to know them.
Adoptable Fridays – Brandi
Brandi is available for adoption through the Southern California Dachshund Relief rescue in San Diego, CA.
Brandi has no shame about climbing onto the hood of the car to survey her vast domain.
Brandi is a beautiful purebred dachshund looking for her furever home, preferably where she can be spoiled rotten and spend her time warming your lap. She’s good with other dogs, older children who respect that smaller dogs need to be treated with care, and LOVES to cuddle. She really enjoys going on walks, is housebroken, up to date on her shots, spayed and would like nothing more than a home of her own.
