He is adorable! He must have eaten a lot of pine cone! I have given pine cones to my foster puppy litters for years as cheap toys/objects of destruction but they don’t seem to actually swallow them, just shred them up and make a big mess. I will have to keep an eye on them to make sure I don’t get a swallower ever. Does he swallow toy stuffing and toy parts too?

That is a sign of a nutritional deficiency. Which is pretty easy for a dog to acquire with most dog foods.
