This is the lovely Scarlett, who was adopted in September of 2005 from the New Hampshire SPCA. She was always really excited and delighted to see babies or kids on our walks, and I always told her someday I would get her a kid of her own. In May of 2008 I did just that, and Scarlett’s human sister Isabel came home. Since then Scar has taken everything an infant/baby/toddler, etc can dish out; this is not just because Isabel is a human vending machine as they obviously love each other a great deal. The way it turned out, the only ones more lucky than Scarlett are the members of her family, because she is the best dog ever.
Scarlett is part of our Reverse Dog Shaming Contest. If you’d like to participate, feel free to submit your pet here.

What a wonderful story – thank you so much for sharing.

Awww, you’re such a good girl Scarlett. I’m glad you finally got your own “puppy”.

This is beautiful. But even more amazing is how much she looks JUST like my dog (originally from PR and now in NH).

She looks a lot like our dog, who passed away just over a month ago. We miss him terribly. He was a Korean Jindo, known for being fierce with outsiders but gentle with family.

Love this!

she sounds like a wonderful soul. I’m sure Isabel and Scarlett will be soul sisters for a long time.
