My foster mom put me in the cone of shame because I tried to eat my tumor. I AM NOT ASHAMED! I am protesting by refusing to move while wearing the cone!
– Jake, 13-year- old diabetic terrier mix whose owner relinquished him to the Animal Protective League in Springfield, IL. The tumor on his leg appears to be benign and isn’t causing him discomfort. But, he won’t stop licking and chewing at it. We hope it will heal up on its own now that he’s wearing the cone.

D’AW! Poor guy!

My dog refused to move from the vets office after getting his cone b/c of a cut on his foot. I think it was pretty disorienting for him. I had to pick him up (56lbs) and carry him to the car. After about 2 weeks though he had smashing it so many times against things that he had bent it and could reach his foot again. The foot wasn’t healed but I wasn’t going to pay another $20 for a new one.

Can you use one of those round pillows that clip around their neck? Would be lots more comfortable. They sell them on Amazon.
