Reminds me of my sister’s cat Blackie who would lick the glass of the grandfather clock for hours. We’d hear the “eee eee eee” of tongue on glass in the middle of the night.

our rescued 10 year old poodle/chihuahua mix licks anything terrycloth- obsessively- bath mats, towels, on the floor, hanging up, in the laundry room- weird!

My older dachshund licks one set of our sheets on the bed. None of the others. Nothing like laying down in a cold wet spot LOL11 eewwww

Oh my gosh, our gloden retriever mix does does this too! She barks, digs at some random spot on the floor, and then licks and licks like crazy, leavinf large puddles of drool. Sooooo gross!

My beagle does the same thing .. EVERY NIGHT .. I swear I have the cleanest living rug and furniture in the area.

I think obsessive licking is related to upset stomach or nausea… is like the indoors version of eating grass :-S

My Black and Tan sausage dog meisha does the exact same thing, but only in the morning after breakfast and only on the wooden floors not the tiles!!
