I am Diesel and I don’t like being groomed. | Dog Shaming
I had my first ever bath at the puppy parlour. I barked the entire time (45 minutes) and was so scared of the hair dryer I had to go home before I was dry.

Poor boy….should have had his first grooming at 4 weeks…just a little puppy wash….and again at 8 weeks. And try a different “beauty parlor” a different groomer may relate better.
Perhaps he’s adopted. My dog was 4 when I adopted her and had only had one bath on her entire life, the one the rescue gave her when she was saved from the puppy mill.
I’m a groomer and have never ever had a Shepherd that liked being groomed. I would suggest you stay away from big box pet stores with groom shops inside and find a great little independent groom shop or a groomer that does house calls/ mobile groomer for the next groom.
LOL… I have had German Shepherds for over 30 years.. BIGGEST babies ever..:) My current boy Cole actually screams when he gets his nails trimmed. I tried to give him a bath at 10 weeks and he was terrified of water as well. Gettng better.
It’s comforting to know that’s a breed trait. My 110 lb GSD would run if he had an inkling that you were trying to lock him in the bathroom. And when we did get him into the bath, he kept on trying to climb out, hoping we were done.
My 2 year old GSD is the same way! Her first few baths she cried as if we were killing her! After we took her to a groomers she settled down, and now she sits there quietly until we’re done. But getting her in is the hard part.
