Instead, please consider having someone come in and check on Ladybug everyday and/or when you work late. Keeping her confined in a crate for long hours, day after day, will probably cause more behavioral problems, not fewer.

I secon the avove comment. She is probably foraging because she is hungry. Try leaving out a dinner plate for her when you know you will have to work late. This has worked great with my dog.
