I think this is an outstanding idea! Rescue animals have many shaming issues- that endear them to us and show that they need extra love!

I’ve submitted a photo to you today of smelly Monty, he was adopted by us from an animal sanctuary just one month ago and he would certainly approve of this idea!

As the happy mama of a fantastic (and sometimes ashamed) shelter mutt, I think this is an awesome idea!

Wonderful idea, thank you! I volunteer with a fabulous no-kill shelter here in Brooklyn taking pix of the adoptable pets, can I send you some shots? We’re doing a photo session in a week or two.

I have two shelter pups at home and I volunteer at my local humane society and I think this is a wonderful idea. Might be submitting one or two from BDHS (in Massachusetts). Great thinking, guys!

Love it, and agree with everyone’s comments. It reminds me of the Bow to Wow feature on the Today Show with Jill Rappaport, which has a 100% success rate, simply by honing in on specific dogs and highlighting them. I know it’s very new and so still a work in progress, but after seeing a notice on the site that said the first Adoptable Friday had been a great success, I want to know details that weren’t provided: specifically, which dogs got adopted (obviously wishing for 100%)? I’d also be curious to know if the rescue groups noticed any DS-related uptick in site visits?

(Also have to totally agree with Patty, 🙂 …)

WONDERFUL, PERFECT! Rescue dogs ALL deserve a loving home, with people who can & will give them a second (or third) chance at happiness & forever security. We adopted our adored lab mix Ivy, who sadly is no longer with us, but I’m certain she’s romping, playing in perfect health, in heaven. She was forever grateful, & I swear she always followed me EVERYWHERE, always watching, gazing at me, no joke, for 13 years. Precious, absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done. Many heartfelt thanks, Dog Shaming, for becoming an OUTSTANDING sponsor.

    What a great idea!
I’ve already shown to a friend of mine that takes care of cats…. so, She can adopt the idea, but with cats.
    Cool! Isn’t it?

What a great idea! I have a shelter dog and 7 shelter cats, and they are great! There are way too many animals languishing in shelters. I hope you get a good response!

This is a great way to get the word out about the options for dog adoption. We adopted our second Boxer from NORCAL Boxer Rescue a few months ago, and both have been fantastic family dogs. I would highly recommend doing so to anyone looking for a great addition to their family.
